Indo-Futurism Panel

I had the opportunity to illustrate a side panel for an installation on Indo-Futurism, one of the themes for Asian Paints ColourNext 2024. Which was taken ahead by Wari Watai team on different materials and treatments.

This theme blends familiar landscapes with retro-futuristic elements, creating a surreal visual experience. The installation features backlit portraits in futuristic attire set against a traditional Indian Mahal backdrop, crafted with felt, digital prints, and embroidery.

The exploded view of the Mahal panels is surrounded by metallic silver prints of old Indian streets, symbolizing the fusion of old and new, east and west, craft and technology. This deliberate juxtaposition of contrasting ideas and materials enhances the storytelling space, offering viewers a unique manifestation of Indo-Futurism.
